  • 575 and 579 Vallejo Street Senior Apartments, Petaluma (1 Bedroom Units)
  • Petaluma River Apartments, Petaluma (1 Bedroom Units)
  • Mill District Apartments, Healdsburg (1, 2 and 3 Bedroom Units)
Waitlist Lottery applications will be accepted from May 23, 2022 to July 1, 2022. Online applications will not be accepted after 11:59 PM on July 1, 2022.

In order to be considered for a lottery, the household must meet Housing Authority Preliminary Eligibility and Occupancy standards.

The Housing Authority issues one bedroom for the head or heads of household and one additional bedroom for each two additional people after that, regardless of age or relationship. It is up to the household to decide where/how members will utilize those bedrooms.

The Sonoma County Housing Authority maintains separate Project-Based Voucher (PBV) waitlists for specific units located throughout the County. For these vouchers, rental assistance is tied to a specific unit. This application is for these PBV units only and NOT for the general affordable housing complex. If your name is reached and you are selected for a PBV unit, you will receive rental assistance for that specific unit only. You will be required to stay in that unit for at least one year. If you choose to move from the Project Based unit after one year, you may be issued a Housing Choice Voucher as one becomes available, which would allow you to move to another unit and continue to receive rental assistance.

This application does not guarantee placement on the waitlist. The final waitlist will be determined using a random lottery. Applicants not selected in this lottery will not move forward in the process and will be notified by mail of their status, along with households that make the list. Waitlist lottery results are final and are not subject to appeal. Households not selected for this waitlist may reapply when the waitlist application period reopens. Information regarding the date, time and place of future waitlist openings will be posted in advance on this website: https://sonomacounty.ca.gov/CDC/Housing-Authority/Applicants/

Applications chosen during the lottery will be randomly assigned lottery ranking numbers and sorted using the following preferences:

  • Persons with disabilities
  • Seniors (62+ years of age)
The Sonoma County Housing Authority has established these local preferences and applicants will be required to provide documentation for any preferences applied to your household when your name is reached.

If you move after submitting the preliminary application, it is your responsibility to submit a Waitlist Update Form, which is available online at: https://sonomacounty.ca.gov/CDC/Housing-Authority/Applicants/ or at the Sonoma County Housing Authority office.

If we are unable to contact you at the address you provided, you will be removed from the waitlist. Please note: The post office will not forward mail from our office.
