Welcome to the Grand Junction Housing Authority Pre-Application Site

 

The following waiting lists are currently open:

Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8) - The Housing Choice Voucher Program provides rental assistance to low-income households so that they may afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing that meets their individual needs in the private rental market.

Participants pay approximately 30% - 40% of their gross monthly income for rent and utilities with the balance of the rent paid by GJHA directly to the landlord. Income limits apply.

Capital Terrace Apartments Project Based Vouchers - Is a Project Based Voucher Program that offers two- and three-bedroom units. 

Participants pay approximately 30% - 40% of their gross monthly income for rent and utilities with the balance of the rent paid by GJHA directly to the landlord. Income limits apply.

Courtyard Apartments Project Based Vouchers - Is a Project Based Voucher Program that offers two- and three-bedroom units. 

Participants pay approximately 30% - 40% of their gross monthly income for rent and utilities with the balance of the rent paid by GJHA directly to the landlord. Income limits apply.

Nellie Bechtel Apartments – GJHA owned and operated senior property that offers one- and two-bedroom units with laundry facilities on site and all utilities included. Head of household, co-head of household, or spouse MUST be 62+ years of age. 

Pet policy and deposit applies. Income limits apply.

Walnut Park Apartments - GJHA owned and operated property that offers one-bedroom units. Head of household, co-head of household, or spouse MUST be 62+ years of age or disabled.  This is a subsidized property, and the subsidy will stay with the unit if participant chooses to move elsewhere. Participant pays roughly 30% of their monthly income for rent.

Pet policy and deposit applies. Income limits apply.

Ratekin Tower Apartments - GJHA owned and operated property that offers one-bedroom units. Head of household, co-head of household, or spouse MUST be 62+ years of age or disabled.  This is a subsidized property, and the subsidy will stay with the unit if participant chooses to move elsewhere.  Participant pays roughly 30% of their monthly income for rent.

Pet policy and deposit apply. Income limits apply.

Affordable Rental Properties – GJHA owned and operated affordable rental properties.  These are rent reasonable properties that offer up to four-bedroom units. These properties include:

·         Village Park Apartments

·         Linden Pointe Apartments

·         Crystal Brook Townhomes

·         Arbor Vista Apartments

·         The Highlands

How to Apply: You must have an email address or phone number to complete this Preliminary Application. This Preliminary application must be submitted electronically using this system to create a receipt of application.

Information needed: Names, Social Security numbers, birth dates, and income information for all household members. 

Eligibility: To apply for housing you must meet the following criteria:

·            Head of Household must be 18+ years of age, or a legally emancipated minor. 

·            One (1) person in the household must be an eligible citizen or an eligible non-citizen. 

·            Household total income must meet applicable income limits.

 

Final program eligibility will be determined when selected and processed for housing assistance.

IMPORTANT: YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR NOTIFYING THE GRAND JUNCTION HOUSING AUTHORITY IN WRITING WHEN YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES, MAILING ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBERS, OR OTHER MEANS OF CONTACT CHANGE. FAILURE TO NOTIFY THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THESE CHANGES COULD RESULT IN REMOVAL FROM ALL WAITING LISTS.
