Monroe Housing Authority

The Monroe Housing Authority is accepting online applications for the following Public Housing Properties: Foster Heights, Locke/Breece, Robinson Place, and Miller Square beginning at 8:00 AM CT on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, and will close at 4:30 PM CT on Friday, October 30, 2026.

The online application portal will be available 24 hours a day during the waiting list open dates. Paper applications will NOT be available and fax requests will not be accepted.

After you have successfully applied, you should print the confirmation of application that appears on the last page of the process. You may also receive a confirmation via email if an email address is provided. If you do not have an e-mail account, you will have the opportunity to create one while completing the application.

Here are the few things to remember:

• You can only apply for two of the properties listed.  Your application will be rejected if you apply for more than 2 properties.
• You are placed on the wait list by date and time of application. 
• The Monroe Housing Authority has no emergency housing. Call 211 for assistance.
• If we are unable to contact you at the address you provided, you will be removed from the Waiting List.
• All mailing address changes MUST be submitted in writing. 
• You MUST save your Log In ID and Password!! You will need them to check the status of your application. Please do not call Monroe Housing Authority for status updates for your application.

The Public Housing Program offers the following preferences.  If you are eligible to receive a preference, provide a written statement of the preference you are eligible for and attach current proof of your eligibility.  Mail your statement and current proof of your preference(s) to 300 Harrison Street, Monroe, LA.  71201- Attention: Waiting List Preference

• Elderly or disable head or co-head
• Enrolled in educational or training program
• Modernization moveout moving back in
• Resides or employed in Monroe
• Victim of domestic violence
• Victim of reprisals or hate crimes
• Working: head or co-head, 20+hrs, > 6 months
• Involuntary displacement (disaster, govt action)
• Veterans or surviving spouse
