Thank you for your interest in applying with Statesville Housing Authority. You can apply for as many or as few waiting lists as you wish that are currently open: Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher Program (formerly known as Section 8), and Multi-Family-Summit Village(S8NC) elderly 62 & older or disabled, Multi-Family Housing-Rollins Apts. (family) & Brevard Gardens.

Brevard Gardens
Newly renovated 22 unit development. Must be gainfully employed with a minimum household employment income of $15,000 per year and does not include HUD excluded wages; and must be employed fora minimum of twelve-(12) consecutive months prior to application and/or admission date; must meet occupancy standard requirements; must enroll in SHA's Home ownership Program. Client pays for all utilities and deposits (City of Statesville and PSNC); This is a "No Smoking" Community inside of units - prohibited within 25 feet of any building; Must meet all HUD guidelines and regulations, meet all SHA's eligibility requirements.

Public Housing
Public housing provides decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Public housing comes in all sizes and types, from scattered single family houses to apartments for elderly & families. All within the city limits of Statesville. This is a "No Smoking" community inside of units - prohibited smoking within 25 feet of any building; Must meet all HUD guidelines and regulations, meet all SHA's eligibility requirements.

Housing Choice Voucher Program (formerly known as Section 8)
Assisting very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market through out Iredell County. Since housing assistance is provided on behalf of the family or individual, participants are able to find their own housing, including single-family homes, townhouses, apartments and mobile homes. The participants is free to choose any housing that meets the requirements of the program and is not limited to units located in subsidized housing projects and the owner agrees to rent under the program. The unit may include the family's present residence. Rental units must meet minimum standards of health & safety, as determined by SHA. Must meet all HUD guidelines and regulations, meet all SHA's eligibility requirements.

Multi-Family Summit Village (S8 New Construction) & Rollins Apts.    (Elderly or Disable Only Head, Spouse or Co-Head)
The Multi-Family Summit Village (S8NC) program provides rental subsidies for eligible families (including single persons) residing in newly constructed or rehabilitated. The rents of the residential units are subsidized by HUD. All such assistance is "project-based", i.e.; the subsidy is committed by HUD for the assisted units not the family. This is a "No Smoking" community inside of units - prohibited smoking 25 feet of any building. Must meet all HUD guidelines and regulations, meet all SHA's eligibility requirements.

Mulit-Family Rollins Apts.   located in Mt. Holly (Gaston County) near Gastonia, NC, provides rental subsidies for eligible families residing in newly constructed or rehabilitated. The rents of the residential units are subsidized by HUD. All such assistance is "project-based", i.e.; the subsidy is committed by HUD for the assisted units not the family. This is a "No Smoking" community inside of units - prohibited smoking 25 feet of any building. Must meet all HUD guidelines and regulations, meet all SHA's eligibility requirements. Clients pays for all utilities and deposits (electric company and PSNC).

No Smoking Policy
Smoking is only allowed outside of the unit at least 25 feet from any building. Smoking in prohibited inside of the unit. This applies to the following programs: Public Housing, Multi-Family-Summit Village, Multi-Family Rollins Apts. & Brevard Gardens.

Reasonable Accommodation
It is the policy of SHA to provide reasonable accommodations to those persons with disabilities so that they can participate equally in its housing programs, but does not require lowering or waiving essential requirements for eligibility. Accommodations are not reasonable if it requires a fundamental alteration in the nature of the program or imposes undue financial and administrative burdens on SHA.
