THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF BERGEN COUNTY
The Housing Authority of Bergen County is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted from income eligible senior citizens (62+) households for studio apartments at Boiling Springs Gardens located at 147 Hackensack St, East Rutherford, New Jersey. The studio apartments are 375 sq. ft and contain closet space, bathroom, and full kitchen.
Beginning Monday, March 11th, 2024, at 9:00 am through Friday, March 15th, 2024, at 11:59 pm the HABC will accept applications ONLINE ONLY. Applications will be available at www.habcnjwaitinglists.org. We will accept applications from single person households only.
A random selection lottery will be conducted to select 250 applicants to be placed on the wait list for future potential vacancies. The HABC will use a third party to randomly select 250 applicants by computer to be placed on the waiting list. To be eligible for the lottery, all completed applications must be received by 11:59 pm on Friday, March 15th, 2024. Applications received after 11:59 pm on Friday, March 15th, 2024, will be declined. The lottery will be held on Friday March 22nd, 2024. Applicants can check their lottery results in their online application portal at www.waitlistcheck.com. Lottery results will be made available after March 22nd, 2024. Applicants not selected for initial occupancy will remain on the waiting list for future occupancy.
For those who need assistance completing an application, the Housing Authority will make staff available at Boiling Springs Gardens, 147 Hackensack Street, East Rutherford, NJ 07073. Staff will be made available to assist with the completion of applications from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm, Monday, March 11th, 2024, through Friday, March 15th, 2024.
To be eligible to apply, the head of household must be 62 years of age or older with an annual gross income which cannot exceed the following income limits:

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WHO LIVE, WORK, TRAIN, OR ATTENED SCHOOL IN BERGEN COUNTY. THE TOP 250 APPLICANTS IN THE LOTTERY WILL BE PLACED IN ORDER OF THEIR PREFERENCE WEIGHT. SELECTED APPLICATIONS WILL BE PLACED ON THE WAITING LIST FOR FUTURE POTENTIAL VACANCIES.
