Welcome to the City of Fulton Community Development Rental Assistance program.

Our program is a federally funded program that subsidizes safe, decent, and sanitary housing for low-income families. Applicants must meet all U.S. Department of Housing and Urban (HUD) income and eligibility requirements.

PLEASE READ ALL THE INFORMATION BELOW CAREFULLY. DO NOT SKIP DIRECTLY TO THE APPLICATION.

Our waiting list is currently open.

Applications will be accepted online only. Only one application per household will be accepted. Duplicate or fraudulent pre-applications will be rejected. Paper applications will not be distributed or accepted. If you need assistance in another language, Google Translate will assist you during the application process.

Applications can be submitted ONLINE with the use of a personal computer, laptop, smartphone, or tablet. There is no requirement to come to the agency's office. The City of Fulton Public Library does provide access to public computers and free WI-FI.

The City of Fulton Community Development Agency at 125 West Broadway Fulton, New York 13069 will also have laptops and staff available to assist applications by APPOINTMENT ONLY Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m - 4:30 p.m.

INFORMATION NEEDED: Full legal names, Social Security numbers, birthdates, and income information for every person in the household. You must enter your total household income on the application. If your household income has no income from any sources, you must enter zero in the income field. The information you provided must be truthful and complete to the best of your knowledge. An email address or phone number will be required. If you do not have an email address, the application process will allow you to create one. Aws you complete the application process, you will create a login and password. Please keep this information for your records.

APPLICATION SELECTION: You can view your status information at www.assistancecheck.com. Applicants may visit the webpage to check their location on the waitlist. All eligible applications will be placed on the waitlist; however, this does not guarantee you will be eligible for assistance. Applications are ranked using the following preferences:

1.       Any family that has been terminated from the City of Fulton Community Development Agency’s program due to insufficient funding.

2.       Families living in the City of Fulton that include victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking who have either been referred by a partnering service agency or consortia or is seeking an emergency transfer under VAWA from the City of Fulton Community Development Agency’s housing program. Our agency works with the following partnering service agencies:

3.       Families that are living in a supervised publicly or privately operated homeless shelter within the City of Fulton designated to provide temporary living arrangements (including congregated shelters, transitional housing, and hotels and motels paid for by charitable organizations or by federal, state. Or local government programs for low-income individuals); or a family in the City of Fulton that will imminently lose their primary nighttime residence and if all three (3) of the following apply:

1.       The family’s primary nighttime residence will be lost within 14 days of the date of application from homeless assistance.

2.       No subsequent residence has been identified

3.       There is a lack the resources or support networks, e.g., family, friends, faith based or other social networks needed to obtain other permanent housing.

4.       Families living with children in the City of Fulton

5.       Families living in the City of Fulton who are elderly families or disabled families.

6.       Elderly applicants that wish to reside in senior designated housing within the City of Fulton

WAIT TIMES: Voucher turnover and HUD funding affect the wait time. You will be notified when your application has been selected. Waitlist gives preference to applicants. If an applicant claims preference, the applicant will be required to provide proof of the preference.
