You will only be able to apply for waiting lists that are currently open. If you are unsure which housing program is right for you, please visit our website for program details.
As of 11:59pm on January 31, 2024, we will only be accepting applications for Public Housing 4-bedroom. The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher list remains closed.
Bedroom sizes are determined by your household composition. Two adults in the same household will be required to share a bedroom. Children of the same gender will be required to share a bedroom with a limit of 2 per bedroom.
Before you begin the application, please have the following information available for all household members:
Name
Social Security Number
Date of Birth
Income
Assets
If you are claiming a Veteran preference a DD214 is required.
A valid email address is necessary to submit an application.
The following programs are not available online and will still require the submission of a paper application:
Shelter Plus Care
SRO/YMCA
Coleman Project Based Vouchers

By submitting this application, you are granting Allen Metropolitan Housing Authority permission to obtain the reports necessary to determine eligibility. For Public Housing that includes a credit check, eviction check, and criminal history. For all other programs the check will be limited to criminal history.
Under our Section 8/Housing Choice Voucher Program, you must lease within the jurisdiction of our Housing Authority for the first year before porting assistance.
