Please note that an email address or telephone number is required.

Free email addresses are available at gmail.com. You can skip the phone number section when asked. We are located in Salem, Oregon.

By submitting a waiting list application, you acknowledge that you have read the applicable Tenant Selection Plan and any other House Rules and policies found at https://www.salemhousingor.com/plans-and-policies/. Before You Begin

Have available your Social Security number as well as the names, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers of all household members. If someone does not have a Social Security number, use "999-99-9999." Enter all information carefully. Do not leave applicable questions blank. Applications must be filled out completely to be accepted by SHA for processing.

After completing the applications, you will receive a confirmation number to acknowledge successful transmission of the application. By submitting this application information, you are not guaranteed placement on any waiting list.

Eligibility

You can check if you are income qualified by visiting each program's information page on the SHA website. At least one family member must be a citizen, national, or non-citizen with eligible immigration status in order for the family to qualify for any level of assistance. Other eligibility criteria, including criminal history, can be found in each program’s policy.

Application Process

Applications must first be submitted online and are not considered complete until a email receipt with a confirmation number is generated and all required documentation is submitted to the SHA office. Applicants are placed on the waiting list according to date and time of application.

Address Changes

If you are added to the waiting list, you will be notified by mail when your name comes to the top of the waiting list or if we are updating our files. If you do not respond to our notifications, or your letter is returned undeliverable, your name will be removed from the waiting list. If you have a change of address or family composition, you must submit written notification of the change to our main office. Please include the last 4 digits of your social security number on any correspondence.
