Welcome to the

Outagamie County Housing Authority

Wait List Application Instruction Page

Outagamie County Housing Authority units are funded by the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) or Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) and we as management, are required to follow the rules and regulations set up by these agencies. Outagamie County Housing Authority has one, two, and three bedroom units in Appleton, Kimberly, Seymour and Hortonville and four bedroom units in Appleton and Kimberly. Applicants must meet all U. S. Dept. of Housing & Urban Development income and eligibility requirements.

How: Submission of an application does not guarantee placement on the wait list.  Only one application per family will be accepted.  Duplicate applications will be rejected.

Information Needed:  Names, Social Security numbers, birthdates, and income and asset information for everyone in the household.  If you need assistance in another language, Google Translate will assist you during the application process.

What’s Next:  Once an application is submitted, a preliminary check will be done to determine eligibility and prescreening of background to determine suitability. If your application appears to be eligible and suitable, your application is put on a waiting list. When a vacancy occurs, we call the names on the waiting list according to Program Regulations.  Outagamie County Housing Authority requires reference checks on all applicants to ensure that the buildings will be cared for, the rent will be paid, and that all tenants will have a peaceful, safe, secure, and sanitary living environment. At least one landlord reference is required. We check the following information for every applicant: All information on application, Background, Credit history, References from previous/current landlords, Criminal checks where allowed by law, and Sex offender registry as sex offenders are not eligible. All screening criteria adopted by Outagamie County Housing Authority will be consistently applied in accordance with all applicable Fair Housing laws.  Placement on the wait list does not indicate that the family is, in fact, eligible for assistance.  A final determination will be made when the family is selected from the wait list.  You may request a copy of our Tenant Selection Plan by e-mailing kkrisher@outagamiehousing.us and providing us with you most current address.  It is vitally important that the applicant keep the Outagamie County Housing Authority advised of any changes in address, phone number and family composition. You may contact us with the new information at nsummers@outagamiehousing.us.

Reasonable Accommodation: To request reasonable accommodation with the application please contact the leasing office at kkrisher@outagamiehousing.us.
