ON LINE APPLICATIONS ONLY!
HCV is a federally –funded program that subsidizes decent, safe, and sanitary housing for low-income persons. Applicants must meet all U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development income and eligibility requirements.

You are placed on the list by where you physically live! Inside the City Limits of Joplin is outside our jurisdiction and your wait will be extremely long.

HOMELESS MEANS LIVING IN A SHELTER!!!!

CURRENT WAIT TIME IS @ 12 MONTHS or MORE IF YOU LIVE IN OUR 
SERVICE AREA. CITY LIMITS OF JOPLIN IS OUTSIDE OUR 
JURISDICTION.

 HOW TO APPLY: Pre-applications will be accepted online only. Submission of a pre-application does not guarantee placement on any Waiting List. Only one pre-application per family will be accepted. Duplicate applications will be rejected.  Paper applications will not be distributed or accepted.

WHERE TO APPLY: Pre-applications can be submitted ONLINE with the use of a personal computer, laptop, smart phone, and tablet @ www.waitlistcheck.com/MO837. Paper Pre-applications will not be accepted by the Housing Authority office.

WHAT INFORMATION IS NEEDED: Names, Social Security numbers, birthdates and income information for everyone in the household. An email address will be required. If you do not have one, the application process will allow you to create one.  If you need assistance in another language, Google Translate will assist you during the application process.
DOCUMENTATION OF ALL PREFERENCES IS REQUIRED AND WILL BE VERIFIED. LIVING WITH FRIENDS OR FAMILY DOES NOT MEET OUR DEFINITION OF HOMLESS. 

Maximum Income Limits for Jasper/Newton Counties:
·         1 person  - $24,100
·         2 persons - $27,550
·         3 persons - $31,000
·         4 persons - $34,400                                          
·         5 persons - $37,200
·         6 persons - $39,950
·         7 persons - $42,700
·         8 persons - $45,450
Income limits are current and subject to change and vary per county

Reasons for denial of pre-applications: Pre-applications will be removed from the wait list if any of the following are determined at the initial interview:
 
·         Drug or violent criminal activity within the last three years.
·         Life-time registered sex offender.
·         Persons convicted of manufacturing or producing methamphetamine.
 
Criminal background checks and screening for previous tenant history in assisted housing is conducted at the time of the eligibility interview for all adult household members.
 
Reasonable Accommodation: It is the policy of the JCPHA to provide reasonable accommodations to those persons with disabilities so that they can participate equally in its housing programs.
