Appleton Housing Authority is accepting applications for the Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCV) as of 9/1/21. HCV is a federally-funded program that subsidizes low-income persons in the private rental market in decent, safe, and sanitary housing. Applicants must meet all U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development income and eligibility requirements.

The waiting list is currently 2-4 years long. All information given on the application will be verified by the AHA when an applicant reaches the top of the waiting list. 

Maximum income levels based on family size are as follows:

  • 1 Person - $33,500
  • 2 Persons - $38,300
  • 3 Persons - $43,100
  • 4 Persons - $47,850
  • 5 Persons - $51,700
  • 6 Persons - $55,550
  • 7 Persons - $59,350
  • 8 Persons - $63,200

Only one application per family will be accepted.

The following information will be needed to complete this application:
  • Date of birth for all applicants
  • Social Security numbers
  • Legal address of current residence
  • Gross Income Information (i.e. - wages, child support, social security benefits, etc)

After you have successfully applied, you should print the confirmation of application that appears on the last page of the process. You may also receive a confirmation via email if an email address is provided. If you do not have an e-mail account, you will have the opportunity to create one while completing the application.

Note: The Housing Choice Voucher Program waiting list does have a 5th preference for applicants who have completed the Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) Program. This preference will be checked by AHA staff once this program is completed by an applicant.
